with 100 km of marked hiking paths that cast a spell on
mountain climbers and adventurers.

Pitztal Sommer Card

The Pitztal Sommer Card is valid from May 26, 2023 to October 15, 2023 and includes a total of 18 services in the Pitztal, Kaunertal, and Imst region. We are a partner business, and the SOMMER CARD is included in the price during the specified time for each guest. From the first day you can use the majority of its services with the exception of the mountain railways and XP Adventure Park. On your arrival day, you will receive the Pitztal Sommer Card at the reception desk. Here, you can choose to use the card on your day of arrival or on the day of your departure.
Please note that on each following day you can only use the lift or go to the XP Adventure Park once per day. In addition to this, you will receive free entrance to all participating businesses such as museums, swimming lake, climbing hall, bouldering barn, alpine ibex centre and you can use all public busses free of charge every day! The opening times of the service partners may differ from the validity period of the Pitztal Sommer Card.

Hiking

If you would like to make the climb a bit easier, you can quickly and comfortably soar up to an elevation of over 2,000 m from the Hochzeiger valley station, which is right next to our hotel. Idyllic walking paths, picturesque hiking routes, an breathtaking alpine tours promise an unforgettable nature experience with a 360° panoramic view.

Fascination of the Kaunergrat Nature Park
The impressive landscape of culture and high mountains, the vast moors, the wonderful alpine pastures, crystal-clear cirque lakes, and the majestic glaciers at the valley head of the Pitztal make the Kaunergrat Nature Park one of the most beautiful natural jewels in the Alps! The nature park is also a special refuge for the ibex, butterflies, and many other plants and Alpine animals. In your holiday resort of Jerzens, the rushing Stuiben waterfall in the wonderful Riegetal will whisk you away to a world far from hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Mountain biking

On 95 kilometers of the finest mountain bike routes, you can experience the legendary beauty of the Pitztal up-close from the bike saddle! The mountain bike routes in various difficulty levels lead over forest paths, gravel, roots, and from gentle valley floors up to the Alpine realm. 

Jerzener Tanzalm Trail
From Hotel Alpenroyal, the adventurous Jerzener Tanzalm Trail will take you past the Stalderhütte, Hochzeiger Haus, and Tanzalm up to the mid station of the Hochzeiger lifts in less than 10 km. You can also reach the mid station comfortably on the gondola. Let it rip! From here, all you have to do is enjoy the thrilling downhill ride via the curvy gravel path down into the valley!

Pitztal Bike Route
On the 42 km long Pitztal Bike Route, you can explore the entire Pitztal with the crystal-clear air in your lungs. With several technical passages and 1,400 vertical meters, the wonderful bike route promises pure riding enjoyment!

Bouldering & climbing

Explore the breathtaking beauty of the Pitztal mountains on the vertical plane and experience intense moments full of nature enjoyment! The Pitztal is the perfect climbing paradise for families and beginners, because most of the climbing routes are easily accessible and have a lower level of difficulty. In addition, the Pitztal is a member of the Climbers Paradise association and thus guarantees the highest quality and safety standards.

The XP climbing park is only a stone's throw away from Hotel Alpenroyal and promises a special kind of nature experience. The unique climbing park offers numerous routes in various difficulty levels (2-6). On the Pitzi climbing rocks with 2 easy via ferrata routes and exciting rope bridge, little climbers can experience an unforgettable introduction to the sport of climbing. From the Alpenroyal, you can reach the climbing park after a 40 minute hike or after a 20 minute descent from the mid station of the Hochzeiger lifts.

Bouldering
In Rietzenried, in your holiday resort of Jerzens, is the famous "Mandlers Boden" bouldering area with 180 impressive bouldering routes. Idyllically located in an easily reachable forest, children can experience magical adventure while experienced climbers can solve tricky bouldering problems with a difficulty level from 3a to 8a.

Via ferrata
By means of steps, handholds, ladders, suspension bridges, and a safety cable that have been incorporated into the terrain, "non-climbers" also have the opportunity to explore the Pitztal mountains in spectacular ways. The Pitztal Glacier climbing park offers 4 routes to suit every taste and provide a splendid view of Tyrol's highest glacier for a special via ferrata experience. With an easy and challenging route, the Arzl stone wall also promises via ferrata fun.

Indoor climbing
At the Kletterstadl Stillebach in St. Leonhard, you can enjoy climbing fun 24/7 in a unique atmosphere. 85 routes with various difficulty levels and a breathtaking 150m² of bouldering surface provide unlimited climbing enjoyment even in bad weather. The Imst climbing center also has a gigantic indoor climbing area of 1420m².

Fun & action with the whole family

At Hotel Alpenroyal, your family vacation will be an unforgettable experience! Our child-friendly hotel offers plenty of space for playing and discovering. In the colorful children's playroom with kid's cinema and PlayStation as well as large kid's playground, the little guests can experience exciting adventure. Only 50 m from the hotel, Pitzi's Kids Club offers a diverse children's program. In the summer months, Hotel Alpenroyal offers its young guests from 3 to 14 yrs. old the opportunity to participate in a weekly program for free. Lunch is also provided for an extra charge.

ZirbenPark
Here where one of Tyrol's oldest Swiss stone pine forests is located, the 1,000 m long trail at the Hochzeiger mid station reveals interesting information about the pine, the "king of the Alps". The 12 m high ZirbenZapfen adventure tower with viewing platform and tube slide is without a doubt the highlight of the ZirbenPark. In addition, the refreshing  water playground with stream, wooden chutes, shallow water biotope, and sand pit will excite children both big and small.

Do you want to add a little more spice to your vacation? The exciting mountain carts promise thrilling downhill action on the 4 km long route from the Sechszeiger to the Hochzeiger mid station. The XP Adventure Park, the only forest ropes park in Jerzens, offers a special kind of nature experience with 8 courses and 59 challenges on a total length of 600 m. Awaiting you in the middle of the wonderfully fragrant tree tops are fun challenges and tricky obstacles that must be conquered with courage and skill. With a ride on the 50 m long "Flying Eagle" over a gorge, you will feel the blood pulsing through your veins!
